OECD/IMHE project: "Supporting the Contribution of Higher Education Institutions to Regional Development"
Since 2004, the Øresund University has participated in an OECD/IMHE-project under the heading "Supporting the Contribution of Higher Education Institutions to Regional Development". The project covers 14 regions in 12 countries across the world. The project is based on a self-evaluation report followed by an peer review visit by an international expert team. Read more about the OECD/IMHE-project on the following web site: http://www.oecd.org/document/16/0,2340,en_2649_201185_34406608_1_1_1_1,00.html In the summer of 2006, OECD/IMHE published a Peer Review Report (PRR), written by a group of international experts. The conclusion of the PRR is essentially that: ”we are in no doubt that the Øresund University and the Øresund Science Region are on the brink of succesfully establishing a new approach to achieving competitive regional development outcomes in a global environment”

As part of this project, the Øresund University has conducted a self-evaluation report (SER) for the use of an international expert team that visited the Øresund Region in December, 2005. The SER deals with the contribution of the universities in the Øresund Region to regional development, and covers themes like: * Education and research * Technology- and knowledge transfer * Influencing on cultural life and city development * Etc.
See below for a general view of the contents of the self-evaluation report (SER). The role of the universities in the Øresund Region is widespread and differentiated. On that background the SER is dealing with an abundant number of topics and themes.
